Dozens of the mothers, sons and wives of the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) who are referred to the military court yesterday demonstrated before the National Council for Women, in protest against jailing their relatives for more than a year and trying them before an exceptional court, and preventing their representatives from entering the Council to file a complaint.
Taking part in the demonstration was American activist Cindy Sheehan, who is visiting Cairo with the American delegation that will follow up on the trials.
Cindy and Mahdi Prey, Managing Director of the American Islamic Society (MAS), delivered a memo to the officials of the Council, who were absent, to relay to Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak in her capacity as President of the Council.
The memo requested the Council to support the families that were afflicted with material and moral damages due to the illegal arrest of their relatives from the Muslim Brotherhood.
